	Crome (John) (1768-1821)
	Born in Norwich, Crome was a painter of landscape in oil and watercolour. He was a founder member of the Norwich Society of Artists. The influence of Dutch landscape painters is clear in his work which is infused with imagination, rich colours and striking compositions.		In 1803 Crome helped to found the Norwich School of Artists and by 1806 he had his first exhibition at the Royal Academy. 1814 saw Crome visit Paris and tour Belgium. www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk
